Designs For Small Gardens
|
Small gardens can be made in areas other than at the ground level or in the ground itself. You can create a garden on a balcony if you do some planning ahead of time. You will not have ground to plant in, so you can utilize pots. In creating your designs for small gardens, be sure not to overplant on the balcony. You will still need room to walk around on the balcony, but with a little imagination you will create a great looking garden that will make your house look great.
You can utilize ferns and flowers to add color and style to your balcony garden. When using pots, just about any size can be used just if you place the large pots on the floor of the balcony and the smaller ones on a rail or on a benchl, and make sure that the plant is appropriate for the pot that it is planted in. If little rain falls on the balcony or if it is covered, you must water the plants every day. Be certain that the plants are receiving an adequate amount of sunlight, nutrients and water where they are located on the balcony, otherwise they will not live and thrive.
Be sure not to overplant on the balcony as it will soon become overgrown and may crowd the space. Adding just a few plants to add life to the balcony is all that is needed to have the desired effect. Place a few on the ground, some on a bench, together with a few hanging planters will be sufficient. It may be a little challenging to create the perfect garden in the small space of you balcony, but if you maintain the garden once you build it, it will provide a beautiful accent to your home, and be a creative hobby for you while imparting a nice personal touch to you home. |
